Each Friday afternoon, our Principal sends out ,via email, the Leaside High School Community Newsletter to all parents/caregivers/guardians. The newsletter includes the calendar for the coming week and contains 3 sections:
Parents & Guardians - including information on reporting student absences, cellphone policies, upcoming school council meetings & hosted events etc. as well as timely updates on parent teacher interviews, exam schedules etc.
Engaging students - including information on recent and upcoming student activities , Athletics and Club updates
Guidance - including information on guidance resources available, links to book guidance appointments and scholarships & awards for graduation students
Take a few minutes to read through the newsletter each week as it is a great way to keep updated on what is happening at Leaside High.

Leaside High School has over 49 clubs that students can join and over 30 school sporting teams that students can try out for.
Note: Parents can volunteer to help assist a teacher with a club, or help coach a sporting team. If you are interested, please complete the Parent volunteer form
Leaside High School Athletic Policy: 2024-2025 - To ensure eligibility for intercollegiate competition, ALL student-athletes at Leaside High School must complete the Policy form. In addition to submitting the form, student-athletes are required to pay the Student Activity Fee of $60.00. This fee must be paid before participating in any intercollegiate events. The Student Activity Fee can be paid via School Cash Online. Students who are experiencing financial need should speak to their Alpha VP. You reach out to the VP based on the student's surname.

Excursions Management Application (EMA) - To tryout for school sporting teams, parents/caregivers must complete the "tryout and participation form" prior to the tryout date. The form can be accessed from the Excursions Management Application system.
Intramural sports take place throughout the school year. Students should listen to morning announcements to ensure they sign up and join a team.
STUDENT ACCIDENT INSURANCE REMINDER The Toronto District School Board does not provide accident insurance coverage for student injuries that occur on school premises or during school sponsored activities. Parents/ guardians are responsible for deciding whether or not to purchase student accident insurance. The insurance program options range from $17 to $33 per year.
