Grade 12 students are reminded that the deadline to apply to university through OUAC (Ontario Universities Application Centre) is January 15, 2026.
Applying to Colleges

Ontario Universities Fair
The Ontario Universities Fair is coming soon to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It is on September 27 and 28, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 5 PM both days. It is free to attend, and will have many universities and other organizations in one place, including OSAP (Ontario Student Assistance Program - student loans). Many of the universities at the fair will also be at our Leaside Post-Secondary Information Night described below. Click here for more information.
Grades 11 & 12 Post Secondary Info Night and Fair
🗓️ October 9, 6:30–8:00 p.m. – LHS Auditorium
Join the LHS Guidance Counsellors to learn about the apprenticeship, college, and university application process.
Students can speak with representatives from over 23 universities, as well as colleges and the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program.
Parents are welcome to attend with their students.

The Commencement Ceremony is usually held last week of school on one of the PA days (date TDB) at Parkview Manor - 55 Barber Greene Road. Further details on how to purchase tickets etc will be shared by the school, usually in May. Information will be posted here once it becomes available.
Grad Photos
Nov - 17 - 28 - is when grad photos will take place. It is by appointment only. The school will provide information on how to book appointments. We will share the information here once it becomes available.
Grad Hoodies
Grad Hoodies are usually available for sale in Nov/early Dec. We will post information here once it becomes available.
The date of Prom and information on how to purchase tickets will be shared once it becomes available. It is usually held toward the end of May.

NEW! TD Scholarships for Community Leadership are valued at up to $70,000 over four years, and there are 20 given out each year! They are for students who have shown exceptional leadership in making a lasting difference in their community. Winners are also offered summer employment each year they are in university! Deadline: October 22nd, 2025. Click here for more information, and to apply.
NEW! The Wolf Scholars Program is a new full-ride scholarship at the University of Toronto. They are seeking students with exceptional Drive to Build and Lead; Curiosity and Intellectual Engagement and Exceptional Character. Sixteen students will be fully funded to study in the Faculty of Arts & Science at U of T. The scholarship also provides fully funded travel, internships at top organisations, mentorship, and more. The Scholarship is a premier, ambitious program inspired by the Rhodes Scholarship to develop critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Wolf Scholars accepts up to 3 nominations per school. Students do not need a nomination to apply, but it strengthens their overall application. Schools must register their Nominator Contact at this link: https://wolfscholars.awardsplatform.com/.

The U of T Book Award goes to one Leaside student who demonstrates superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. The successful candidate will excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration, and has a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and community. The winner will also be invited to submit an application to the U of T National Scholarship Program. You must be nominated by Leaside for this award.

*Please note: the deadline to apply to U of T, and still be considered for the National Scholarship is October 17th, and then you must apply for the award by October 30th. Our deadline for the Book Award Nomination is October 10th. So you will need to submit your OUAC application (for U of T at least), and then apply for the scholarship, all within a week or two of finding out about the Book Award! Please only apply for the Book Award if you are ready for this process.
The Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarship is for international students who are applying to the University of Toronto. This award is intended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement and creativity and who are recognized as leaders within their school. A special emphasis is placed on the impact the student has had on the life of their school and community, and their future potential to contribute positively to the global community. You must be nominated by Leaside for this award.

The Loran Award offers 36 awards to graduating high school students entering university in the Fall of 2026 who demonstrate strength of character, a deep commitment to service, and intrinsic leadership potential. They are accepting applications from now until Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025 at noon ET. Winners get access to a leadership-enrichment program, as well as financial support, diverse opportunities for experiential learning, and a long-term supportive community of peers and mentors.
